Giriraj Builders Limited is the brainchild of Mr Jamnadas Bechar Pankhania, a holder of a diploma in electrical engineering. Mr Pankhania is credited with the visionary leadership that has helped the company to grow to its status. Inspired by his vast experience in the construction industry, his wish was to establish a company that would be dedicated to offering customer-oriented services that were missing from many of the competing companies. The fact that Giriraj Builders Ltd is now a successful reality is testament that Mr Pankhania did not dream in vain. .
Giriraj director Rohit says that the company begun with very few clients. This, however, changed when it successfully executed a key project in the name of Nairobi Gymkhana cricket stadium. From there, Giriraj never looked back.
“Our growth rate has been exponential, with most of our clients being repeat and referral customers,” says Rohit.
Asked what he thinks about the future of the construction industry in Kenya, Rohit said it is’ “very promising with high potential for investors.” Adding that the main challenge is acquiring skilled labor. But Rohit said his company is dealing with the challenge by hiring experienced supervisors and conducting basic on-site training of employees.

The company which has restricted operations within Nairobi plans to expand to the rest of the country in the near future. “We are planning to expand throughout Kenya and become one of the leading organizations in the industry,” says Rohit. The company is also on the look out for new technologies and construction industry experience to boost development in this field.
